Developing strategies to support EAL and Bilingual Learners

All Saints Teaching School Alliance (ASTSA), in conjunction with the Chelmsford Teaching School Alliance and Chadwell Academy, is hosting a FREE focus group on Developing Strategies to Support EAL and Bilingual Learners, hosted by Dr. Jean Mayala.

By attending the focus group, your views will be used to:

Consider the impact of changing demographics on the needs of education providers in schools and their relationships with the communities they serve.

Develop training programmes and further CPD opportunities for English as an Additional Language co-ordinators, secondary and primary school colleagues – teachers and teaching assistants.

Encourage the development of teaching strategies and resources to support staff, students, parents and other community partners.

The event is taking place on Wednesday 22nd April between 4-5.30pm at:

Dr. Jean Mayala has teamed up with two other colleagues to create an EAL Consultancy Group aimed at advising schools on bilingual learners’ challenges.

Jean is a graduate of Durham University and previously led a team of EAL teachers in Barking and Dagenham, focusing on training teachers, designing materials and developing programmes intended to address the needs of EAL/bilingual learners in schools.
